DON’T FORGET YOUR CROCK POT!

Let’s talk about food! Let’s talk about food in your LQ trailer specifically! I know how easy it is to get to a three day barrel race, get parked and horses unloaded and then head straight to the concession stand for nachos or burgers. I get it! However, for me, I like having home cooked meals in my trailer when I am on the road. It just makes me feel better. I always try to eat healthy throughout my day so my body and my mind works better. But at the end of a long day it’s nice to have a warm hot meal. Here are some SUPER EASY crock pot meals that make eating yummy food on the road a cinch!

Crockpot Chicken and Noodles: This recipe is a HUGE hit. You can’t go wrong and it makes a lot!

Cheesy Crockpot Ziti: This is such an easy recipe and when we make it, it never last long.

Crockpot Salsa Verde Chicken: It literally doesn’t come easier than this. Throw this on some tortillas with cheese and sour cream and you have the perfect meal! It takes nothing to make this and its really good!

Crockpot Beer Brats and Sauerkraut: Easy and so good!!!

Ok, this recipe you need to make the night before you leave but I promise you wont be sorry. These cookies are amazing. I suggest not telling anyone they are in your trailer because they will be gone in a hurry! No bake Peanut Butter Cookies

These are just a few of my favorite recipes for the trailer. We also always bring super easy “grab and go” stuff so we keep our energy up. There is nothing worse than getting past the point of hunger at a rodeo/barrel race and feeling your energy drop. Always keep your “grab and go” staples in your trailer! What are yours? A few of ours are muscle milk protein shakes, string cheese, fruit, etc.

Oh and here are some must-have’s that we always keep in our trailer. These things have made our life much easier!

Our Keurig. I never thought I would like one of these and honestly the only place we have one is in the trailer. HA! We don’t even have one in the house. But it is so great in the horse trailer. I love that first thing in the morning you just hit the button, it warms up and bam, you have a cup of coffee. I just grab my cup and I’m out my door to feed my horses. I’m not sitting there waiting for an entire pot of coffee to brew. I also love that in the afternoons, I can make a chai tea with my Keurig. I can’t do that with a normal coffee pot. Here is the one we have:

Also, this skillet (it’s on sale!). It so easy to make bacon or eggs in the morning with this handy little thing! Plus it isn’t big and so it’s very easy to store. I’m gonna try making my protein pancakes in it as some point. 🙂

Magic Bullet: This is pretty self explanatory but its so easy to make a smoothie with this. I love just throwing my stuff in this, blend for like 15 seconds and out the door. Love this!

As you can see I’m all about simple, efficient and SMALL items when it comes to the horse trailer. Lets face it, I don’t care how big the rig is, the more stuff in it, the smaller it feels. These things are easy, not expensive and make our life easier!

Happy Trailering!
